today i'm glad to report that the concert went by with weird problems, but actually turned out quite nice. we did end up playing to a room full of kids and their parents, and very few people we actually knew showed up to megan's thing. on top of the fact that we had to completely change everything we were going to do since none of the stuff we were going to do would have been tolerated, we were also told that the show was starting at 5:30 ending at 7:00.. meaning, each band has exactly 30 minutes to setup/tear-down and play their set. edward had equipment that we needed in order to setup and thus, we ended up not being able to start at 6:00 exactly. oh, did i mention that all the people who were there other than parents and kids, left to goto a pointless awards banquet after we played one song.. ugh... BUT
the set we did play once we were setup consisted of us jamming with edward, ryan and mackenzie. i must say it sounded pretty good, and was really interesting, not to mention the people still watching loved it. one lady walked up to me and commented that my clothes were straight of the 60's and reminded her of her childhood or something along those lines. so the one time we managed to play a set that was actually really interesting, nobody saw it.
it did however give us the idea for creating a giant supergroup-like collective of both bands combined. which we had actually had before but nobody seemed truly enthusiastic about it before today. i hope the idea actually comes about and isn't just more empty talk about nothing. and i also hope to find some pictures of this show to post really soon.
